This scholarship is awarded to two individuals each year to provide tuition assitance to march with the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corp Brass Section

Roger Prall (1939-2023), was born and raised in Bellefontaine, Ohio. While in his teens Roger and his two closest friends Bill Wilcox and Tom Schoff joined the Satans Angels Drum and Bugle Corp. and as they say, "the rest is history". Once Roger had the Drum Corp bug it became his passion the remainder of his life. It was always his dream to start his own Drum Corp and in 1969 he founded the Miami Valley Lancers Drum and Bugle Corp in Tipp City, Ohio. The Lancers were funded by local donations and fund raisers and marched until 1976 when the Corp disbanded due to lack of financial support. In addition to founding the Lancers, Roger was also the founder of the annual Drums Along the Miami Drum Corp Show. After the Lancers disbanded, many former members went on to march with other Drum Corps and Roger was able to follow these young men and women as they pursued their Drum Corp dreams. A few of the members chose the Cavaliers and to honor his legacy our foundation provides 2 tuition assistance scholarships in his name for 2 individuals to march in the Cavaliers.
Cavalier scholarships are awarded in the spring or prior to, or as part of offers to march with the Cavaliers.
The applications and nominees are managed by the Cavaliers.
Scholarships are awarded on a financial needs basis first and you must be a member of the Brass.
If you have interest please reach out to the Cavaliers directly or complete the information and we will forward to the staff.
